Who We Are
Since 2016, Wine Stop has been proud to call the Arts District home. What started as a small neighborhood wine shop has grown into three community-focused spaces across Los Angeles — in the Arts District in DTLA, Silver Lake, and Echo Park.
We believe wine is about people first.
We work directly with small, responsible wineries who care for their land, their workers, and their communities. Every year we visit our growers, taste with them, walk their vineyards, and stay connected beyond the transaction. The relationships matter as much as the wine.
We don’t build our shelves around distributor portfolios or marketing campaigns.
We build them around growers.
Transparency Matters
Transparency matters to us.
We ask questions. We request organic certificates. We review lab analyses. We care about how wines are farmed, fermented, bottled, and shipped. When a wine says it’s organic, sustainable, or low-intervention — we want to see the proof.
Our mission is simple: honest wines with honest information.
Curated with Experience
Every bottle on our shelves is hand-selected by Alvaro Cardenas, bringing more than 25 years of tasting experience and a deep commitment to honest, place-driven wines.
We champion small producers, lesser-known appellations, and wines that tell a story.
Built for Discovery
Our shops are built for discovery. Ask questions. Taste something new. Stay awhile.
At our Silver Lake location, Quartino & Pintxos brings that spirit to life — a relaxed tasting bar where neighbors gather over wines by the glass, quartino, or bottle.
Whether you’re picking up a weeknight bottle, exploring natural wine for the first time, or looking for something special, we’re here for it.
We’re a neighborhood wine shop — in three neighborhoods.
Celebrating 10 Years.
Drink Better. Together.
What We Believe
The Wine Stop Manifesto
1. Wine is not a product.
It is a story of people, land, and time.
2. Great wine begins in the vineyard.
Respect for soil, vines, and nature comes first.
3. Growers matter more than brands.
We follow the hands behind the wine.
4. Transparency matters.
If a wine claims something, we want to see the proof.
5. Honest wines deserve honest information.
Farming, fermentation, and origin should never be hidden. Transparency doesn’t mean faults—our wines are clean, precise, and free of funk and stink.
6. Character over marketing.
We choose wines with personality, not advertising budgets.
7. Discovery is the joy of wine.
The next great bottle may come from a place you’ve never heard of.
8. Wine is meant to be shared.
Around tables, between friends, and across generations.
9. Drink better. Together. Since 2016.
