Sweetness Is Only Part of the Story

Moscato d’Asti is a sweet, gently sparkling wine from the hills of Piedmont in northwestern Italy. Made from the highly aromatic Moscato Bianco grape, it captures the fragrance and flavor of freshly picked grapes with remarkable clarity.

Expect an expressive bouquet of white peach, apricot, citrus blossom and fresh flowers, often joined by subtle notes of sage and mint. On the palate, natural grape sweetness is balanced by lively acidity and a delicate effervescence. The result is fragrant and refreshing rather than heavy.

Fermentation is stopped before all of the grape sugar has been converted into alcohol. This preserves Moscato’s natural sweetness and aromatic character while keeping the alcohol level unusually low—typically around 5%.

Moscato d’Asti has traditionally been served with fruit, pastries, hazelnut cake and other lightly sweet desserts. But it belongs beyond the dessert table. Its combination of sweetness, freshness and gentle bubbles also works beautifully with salty, spicy and savory foods.

Try it with Thai food, Chinese hot pot, spicy Mexican dishes, prosciutto and melon, creamy cheeses, bread with butter and anchovies—or simply enjoy a chilled glass on its own.

What It Tastes Like

Fragrant and floral, with flavors of white peach, apricot, ripe citrus and fresh grapes. Sweet, lightly sparkling and lifted by refreshing acidity.

Why Try It?

Because Moscato d’Asti offers something few other wines can: intense aroma, real sweetness, lively freshness, gentle bubbles and naturally low alcohol—all in the same glass.
