100% Garnacha
Certified Organic · No Sulfites Added · Toro, Spain · Benchmark* Wine
Garnacha is one of Spain’s great native grapes—and one of its most misunderstood. At its best, it delivers purity of fruit, warmth, and a sense of place that feels unforced: red berries, wild herbs, spice, and a natural softness that makes the wine both generous and precise. It thrives in tough conditions—poor soils, old bush vines, dry climates—and rewards patience with depth and character.
In Toro, a region known for power and Tinta de Toro, Garnacha has long been overlooked—scattered, blended away, rarely bottled on its own. Piedra Prohibida brings it forward. Old vines, planted over 50 years ago in Pago Bocarrage, quietly held their ground. This wine is the result: Garnacha without agenda, showing both its natural elegance and Toro’s underlying strength.
2019 Vintage
A warm, dry growing season delivered ripe, healthy fruit with concentration and balance—depth without heaviness, freshness without compromise.
* Wine Term: Benchmark
A benchmark wine is a reference point: a bottle that helps define the identity and quality of a place—not by following trends, but by setting them.
Why Try It?
Toro isn’t known for Garnacha—that’s exactly why this matters. Old vines from the late 1960s, grown in Pago Bocarrage, bottled on their own. Ruby-red, fresh, fragrant, and quietly rebellious.
Why Buy It?
Estate-grown, certified organic Garnacha from 50+ year-old bush vines, made outside the usual Toro template. Red berries, cherry, licorice, soft spice, and floral lift meet Toro’s natural depth and structure. No sulfites added, aged 4–6 months in French oak, and priced where it should be—not where it could be.
Cellar & Serving Notes

A Short Note on Toro
Toro is one of Spain’s great red-wine regions, traditionally defined by structured wines from Tinta de Toro. Piedra Prohibida shows another side: old-vine Garnacha with freshness, fragrance, and quiet power—proof that place is never one-dimensional.
